They then left to Singapore in the year 1980 to serve as Aasthana Vidwans at Arulmigu Mariamman Temple and Arulmigu Sri Srinivasa Temple for about 5 years respectively. They have also toured widely in and around Australia for performances. They have recorded numerous audio cassettes and CDs under their credit. They have also rendered numerous TV and Radio programmes.

They had a definite penchant for innovation and proof which is shown in their method of performing. A few of which is known as “Rakthimelam”, a unique tradition followed and practised by the Sembanarkovil Parampara, “Mallari”, which is frequently rendered during the procession of the presiding deity of a particular temple, “Jugalbandhi”, which is known to have two entirely different and unique art forms combine on one dais, “Vadhyavrindha”, which is a repertoire with a large number of instruments which are melodically and rhythmically different, last but not the least the new age “fusion music”.

Having played “Vadhyavrindha” along with Tavil, Mridhangam, Violin, Morsing, Flute, Dolki, and Tabla in the year 1982 in Singapore, earned them their first unique achievement in the history of Nadaswara repertoire. They became a preferred choice for presenting Lecture-Demonstrations and musical seminars in the art of Nadaswaram. A lecture demonstration on “Ragams Played during Different Occasions” has been presented under the banner of Max Muller Bhavan; German Cultural Centre during the festival of “Sampradaya” is a classical example of the same.

Their musical talent and brilliance has earned them numerous accolades from various corners of the country such as ‘Kalaimamani’ and ‘Rajarathna’ awards conferred on them bear’s testimony to the above fact.

The hierarchy of our traditional musical Parampara continues to the sixth generation in the form of our sons S.R.G.S. Vasanthakumar, S.R.G.S. Mohandoss serving as Nadaswara Vidwans and the seventh generation, our grandson K. Parthasaarathy, a young Mridhangam artist in the field of carnatic music.

We have been extending our patronage to Nadaswara Isai by awarding Gold Medal in memory of our father Sembanarkovil S.R. Govindaswamy Pillai to 1st rank holder of Nadaswaram at Government music college, Chennai every year.
